Business Orientation Practical
BUSINESS ORIENTATION
Business Orientation is aimed at giving the student a practical knowledge of the business side of Aromatherapy. This involves experience with several aspects of the day to day business - such as filling orders for Aromatherapy supplies, decanting, stocking shelves, consulting with walk-in clients, mixing & blending, making cosmetics, and even treating customers.
Another aspect of the Business Orientation programme is Trade Shows. These venues offer students an opportunity to experience first-hand what is involved in preparation, setting up booth space, and working with large numbers of people - educating potential clients, selling Aromatherapy products, and administering treatments in a highly charged atmosphere.
REQUIRED HOURS
Business Orientation hours can be accumulated at trade shows during the semester, or during regular business hours at the Aroma Shoppe in 3-hour shifts. Other arrangements can be made to work on a more frequent basis to accommodate working schedules, with fewer hours per shift. Schedules can be coordinated through the Administration Office. Also, check the bulletin board frequently to be aware of trade show events and dates.
